- This year, other makeup products besides eyeliner like face gems, glitter, and vibrant eyeshadow will be popular.
1. Bloody Liner

Alice King Makeup on TikTok is the go-to for Halloween makeup looks that are stunning but aren’t impossible to achieve, especially if you’re still new to the makeup game. For this bloody eyeliner look, you’ll need both black liner and fake blood (and lots of extra precautions to make sure you don’t get any fake blood in your eyes). If you’re worried about fake blood, opt for an easier method and get some red eyeliner. This look really brings a whole new meaning to cut creases.
Some products to check out:
- Glisten Cosmetics – Cola (Black) Wet Liner (The actual liner that Alice used in her video)
- Colourpop – BFF Liquid Liner in Try Me (Bright Red)
2. Scars and Stitches

Makeup that looks like scars or stitches can work for a variety of Halloween costumes or general Halloween makeup looks that commemorate the holiday. Whether for a Chucky, Freddy Krueger, or even a scarecrow look, scars and stitches makeup are fairly easy to achieve.
In this tutorial by Elle James Makeup on TikTok, she combines glam and gore in a Chucky-inspired tutorial. All you’ll need is black eyeshadow, neutral shadow to add dimension to the stitches, and black liner to create the stitches. You can also take it to the next level with fake blood.
3. Spiderweb Liner

As mentioned above, Alice King Makeup is a go-to for Halloween makeup looks, so, of course, we had to include her twice on the list. Using black liner and black eyeshadow, this spiderweb makeup is simple yet adorable for Halloween.
4. Devil Liner

With a red eyeliner, you can recreate this makeup look from Colleen Makeup on TikTok. Using the liner, Colleen created devil horns above the eyebrow and a devil’s tail underneath her eye. You could stop there, but you can also take it a step further by adding red eyeshadow. Whatever you decide, this look can be versatile with plenty of different shadow colors and can be worn for any Halloween occasion.
Some products to check out:
- Glisten Cosmetics – Lobster (Red) Wet Liner (The actual liner that Colleen used in the video)
- Colourpop – BFF Liquid Liner in Try Me (Bright Red)
- Colourpop- Pressed Pigment – Hop On (True Red)
5. Ghost/Skull Makeup

Skull makeup is pretty common for Halloween makeup looks, but what about a ghost face? This look from Lenkalul on TikTok where she recreated Ghostface from Scream on half of her face was pretty similar to some of the skull looks online, so it made sense to group them together. They also use the same products: black and white face makeup. For the areas around the eyes and little details, it also would be helpful to use black eyeliner. As a bonus, you can add black eyeshadow for an extra dimension to the look.
6. Medusa/Mermaid Makeup

This Medusa makeup look from Kathya Paola on TikTok is similar to the mermaid Halloween makeup looks online because it utilizes vibrant, shimmery colors all over the face and collarbones, gems on the eyes, glitter, and the use of fishnets to create a scale-like texture on various areas of the face and neck.
Some products you can use for this look:
- Vibrant, shimmery shadow in any color
- Sephora Collection – Emerald Eyeshadow
- Colourpop – Super Shock Shadow Kit
- Glossier Lidstar – Glistening Eye Glow
- Half Magic Beauty – Face Gems
7. Clown Makeup

Pennywise Halloween makeup looks took off in the last few years since IT came out, but lately, vintage clown makeup has gone viral. Vintage clown makeup utilizes more abstract lines, gems, and vibrant colors like blue and red to tie the look together. Clown makeup is great because you can make it scary or glam and anywhere in between.
8. Spider Eyeliner
@hayleybuix Would you try these? #halloween #eyelinertutorial #halloweenlook #halloweenmakeup ♬ MONEY - 리사 (LISA)
Don’t get this one confused with the spiderweb eyeliner look from above, as this giant spider makeup look is much more detailed and bold. In this video from Hayley Buix on TikTok, she includes all of the makeup looks that were mentioned on this list so far, but it’s really the last look of the video that was so eye-catching. For the giant spider look, Hayley used black eyeliner to create the outline and overall look of the spider and white liner to add highlights to the spider that make it look more 3D on the face.
If you’re on the market for a new white eyeliner:
9. Zombie Makeup
To achieve a zombie makeup look for Halloween, you can use either eyeliner or eyeshadow to create the look of pronounced, delicate veins around the eye. Usually, purple or blue eyeliner or shadow gives the look a more realistic appearance, but you can also use red to resemble popped blood vessels or like you’re infected with a zombie virus. To really sell the look, you can also add contour underneath the eyes and around the cheeks to make them look hollowed out.
10. Bat Eyeliner
“It’s freakin’ bats! I love Halloween”. When you think of bats, you probably think of Halloween, which is why bat eyeliner is perfect for Halloween makeup looks. All you’ll need for this look is black eyeliner and a reference to help you draw the shapes of the bats around your eyes. Speaking of bats, you could also tie in some fake blood around your lips for a vampire bat look.
