4 Step Halle Berry Skincare Routine That Has Us All Doing a Double Take

4 Step Halle Berry Skincare Routine That Has Us All Doing a Double Take

So turns out that a skincare routine doesn’t have to be uber-expensive and so complicated after all. According to the Halle Berry skincare routine, all you really need is a good cleanser, and this one miracle product she raves about. The Hydro-Vibrating Facial Cleanser is the former Bond girl’s go-to skincare product that she claims she gifted to literally everyone she knew this past Christmas because she swears by it that intensely.

How to Use It

The Halle Berry skincare routine, from the woman herself, says that by putting any regular cleanser or scrub on the wet silicone bristles of the facial massager, and then switching it onto high vibration right before running it over her face. Circular motions are the way to go with a tool like this while trying to avoid the undereye area too much because that area is so sensitive. As she continues with the cleaning, she lowers the power bit by bit and ends on the lowest setting. Once finished cleaning, she wipes off the residual cleanser with a warm washcloth to reveal fresh-feeling, radiant skin.

Perks of Using

A vibrating facial cleansing brush like this goes deeper than just one’s hands would when washing the face. The brush goes further than just the top layer of skin and helps to remove excess oils and deeply cleanse pores to get rid of all of your day’s buildup in your skin. The vibrating nature of the brush and its bristles act as a gentle exfoliation also. This gentle exfoliation is perfect for removing dead skin cells, which helps create radiant, glowy skin and improves its texture. The increased blood flow that happens as a result of the vibrating brush help promote skin rejuvenation and vibrancy.

The Rest of Berry’s Super Simple Routine

Two words, one concept. Say it with me. Bone. Broth. You read correctly- bone broth. Berry is big on drinking bone broth because of its high amounts of collagen- claiming: “It’s so full of collagen that it’s crazy.”. Now, if you don’t know, collagen is the main structural protein found in skin and is responsible for healthy joints, and in our case as important, skin elasticity, or its stretchiness.

As you and I and everyone around us get older, our collagen will start breaking down, and it will be harder for our bodies to produce more and more of this vital protein that we need. Because of this, Berry, and many others, take supplements or drink bone broth to give their bodies that extra kick of collagen that it wouldn’t hurt to give.

Besides the bone broth drinking and the collagen tangent, Berry is also one that follows a clean lifestyle free of smoking and drinking. She says that the two “... are things that show up on your face over the years.” Alcohol is a diuretic, which is something that forces water out of your body– a concept that leads to dry, less plump, and just dull-looking skin. Morning-after breakouts are caused by the increase in inflammation that alcohol also provides.

Over time, excessive drinking (8 or more drinks per week) was found in a study to be associated with an increase in facial lines, under-eye puffiness, and overall loss of skin volume. If you must drink, which is understandable in a social setting with limitations, start by ultra-hydrating throughout the day, and eat a meal before your first drink.

Drinking with food in your system helps metabolize some of the alcohol with your food, causing you to not get as drunk. Another easy way to stay hydrated is to “chase” each alcoholic drink with water to keep up with your consumption. Doing so will definitely help in the long run throughout the night.

The last, and probably most critical aspect of the stellar Halle Berry skincare routine, is to always moisturize and wear sunscreen. Experts agree that everyone should wear sunscreen daily, even if it’s cloudy outside, or you literally stay inside all day. UV rays can penetrate clouds and windows, so you’re not safe from the blazing rays on overcast days or even in your own home.

Sunscreen keeps facial complexions even, protects against the visible signs of premature aging (smile lines, wrinkles), and most importantly, reduces the risk of cancer- especially melanoma. A lot of times, the daily moisturizer that you should be using, will contain even a bare minimum of 15spf sunscreen. If it doesn’t, you should make the switch to one that contains it. Here are some.

Facial Moisturizers with SPF:

  • CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30
  • EltaMF UV Daily SPF 40
  • Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer SPF 30
  • La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer SPF 30
  • EleVen by Venus Williams Unrivaled Sun Serum SPF 35

The key to glowy skin is keeping a simple routine that works for you!

So, are these the secrets to clear skin?

These, I would say, are the bare minimum secrets to radiant, blemish-free skin like Halle Berry’s. On top of these 4 steps, you can use face masks, a separate scrub (every other day/a few times a week- not every day), and, if you can, go get a professional facial to get extractions and other things like a chemical peel for acne scars.

Skincare doesn’t have to be complicated and doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Having clear, radiant skin that you can be confident in can be affordable and realistic. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide on what you need.

  1. A daily cleanser (I love Cetaphil’s face wash) for morning and night use
  2. A vibrating brush like Berry’s
  3. Supplements (collagen, Vitamin C/E)
  4. SUNSCREEN!!!! Probably the most important one.
  5. Lots of water and a ~healthy/clean lifestyle

(optional)

  • A serum (to use before the moisturizer/sunscreen)
  • Tinted moisturizer (BB Creme) for a light layer of coverage

And there you have it, folks. Thank you Ms. Berry for enlightening us, and blessing us with this information. Happy skin-caring!
