With summer approaching, it’s only right that we talk about summer beauty trends. With every new year and every new season, there are always colors, styles, products, and techniques that gain popularity and become the new movement. While trends are fun, it’s also fun to have staple, holy grail products that you know will never fail you and will never go out of style. These are some of my favorite beauty products to keep me glowing, protected, and hydrated throughout the summer.

Skin tints and tinted moisturizers have become much more popular than typical foundations within the last few years. I personally don’t love the look and feel of a full coverage foundation, so I’ve always opted for a lighter coverage base product. I’ve tried several tinted moisturizers and BB creams over the years, and the Fenty Beauty skin tint is by far my favorite. It provides really nice coverage for a skin tint, it blends seamlessly, and it truly looks like skin. It’s lightweight which is perfect for the warm summer months, and it comes in 25 shades! This is definitely one of my favorite beauty products for the summer.

This product is a cult classic in the makeup world. Glossier’s cloud paint was really the first cream to liquid blush to gain popularity and for good reason. This product is so lightweight and looks amazing on the skin. It’s subtle yet buildable, so if you’re new to makeup or not confident in your skills, this is a goof-proof product that you cannot mess up. It comes in 8 different shades, so there’s a color for everyone and every skin tone. They are natural looking and long-lasting in the hot summer heat and humidity. This is definitely one of my favorite summer beauty products.
Everyone loves to go more natural during the summer, and natural typically means no makeup or very little makeup. But, the one thing most people can agree on is that their brows need to look good regardless of the rest of their face. For me, as long as my brows are brushed and in place, I feel complete. Filling in your brows takes up quite a bit of time so sticking to just a gel to comb them up and keep them in place is a fast alternative for summer. The Benefit clear brow gel is amazing at holding your brows in place all day, even through sweat and rain.
This is my holy grail product for all seasons. There are so many different brands and types of chapsticks and lip balms out there, and I have tried several of them. While there are many others that are good, Vaseline never fails. It’s extremely affordable, and the best part about it is that it’s not strictly a chapstick. Vaseline is multipurpose and can be used on any part of the body that is dry or cracked and in need of hydration and moisture.

Sunscreen is a must all year round, but it is especially important to be wearing it every single day in the summer when you’re out in the blazing heat and unobstructed UV rays all day for months. There are so many incredible sunscreens out these days that anyone can find their holy grail formula. I have been using EltaMD for years and have found that it’s the only formula that doesn’t break me out, or make me feel like I’m wearing anything at all on my face. Not to mention it has zero trace of that typical sunscreen smell.
It’s a super lightweight formula that acts almost like a moisturizer and just blends so nicely into the skin. I love the tinted formula because it evens out your skin tone without having to wear makeup, and the tint adds a slight extra layer of protection. But, they do make a clear version for those who prefer no color. This is my favorite beauty product and an essential part of my everyday morning skincare ritual.

The onset of warmer weather and higher humidity levels also means a higher level of oil production for most people. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing as oil is what keeps your skin’s surface lubricated. However, oil production mixed with dirt, dead skin, and bacteria is the leading cause of acne and breakouts. If you are someone that struggles with pimples or oily skin in general, you may be more prone to breaking out during the summer.
Luckily, there are several ways to fight acne. My personal favorite is to use a nightly pimple patch. There are so many different brands and kinds of pimple patches, and some even come in fun shapes and colors, but the COSRX brand makes my personal favorite patch. They come in a variety of sizes depending on the size of your breakout, and these pimple patches are waterproof! Typically, patches are designed to be worn overnight, but if you wanted to wear them throughout the day, they are essentially invisible. These are a must-have all year long and one of my favorite beauty and skincare products.

Ouai’s detox shampoo has been a newly-discovered favorite of mine. I have never used a detoxifying shampoo before and honestly never knew what it was or what it was used for. I struggled for a while with mild dandruff and could not get rid of it. After doing some research online, I realized that, just like our skin, the products we use on our hair build up and clog our pores as well. So, we need to exfoliate our scalps the same way we do our faces.
A detox shampoo is essentially a chemical exfoliant for your hair. This one by Ouai is made up of apple cider vinegar which removes flakes, residue, and buildup, and it is combined with hair-strengthening keratin. You only need to use this detox shampoo about once a week, and you’ll start to see a noticeable difference in the cleanliness of your hair and the health of your scalp.
There are so many cult-favorite beauty products out there, and I know there’s more especially for the summer! These are my personal favorites that I know I can always count on to come through for me. Summer is about relaxation and having fun spending time outdoors, traveling, and with the people you love - the last thing you want to be worrying about is your makeup melting or your skin breaking out.
