Vegan Cruelty Free Skincare from Esmi Skin Minerals

Vegan Cruelty Free Skincare from Esmi Skin Minerals | Mirra Skincare

All right, it's time for a brand review! Today we’re talking about Esmi Skin Minerals. The market of available skincare products is limitless in practice. You could try multiple new products every day for your entire life and still not try them all. So our task as consumers is to find brands that work the best with us. For products to truly succeed they need to do more than simply give results. Today, due to the explosion of social media, influencers, and online marketing, brands need to showcase not only their final products but the process as well.

The general public has become more aware of what is in products, the impact on the environment, animal cruelty, and business’s treatment of their workers, they have become more thoughtful in all of their behaviors including the purchase of skincare products. In successful marketing, a brand not only promotes its products but an entire lifestyle.

Brands gain popularity because they are relatable, their advertisements are personal and target points that matter to you. In the case of Esmi Skin Minerals, I think they put it best, they are: “passionate and motivated about skincare and self-care...wish to leave a softer imprint on your body and the natural world”…and feature products designed to treat skin concerns, that feed your skin with clean, nourishing formulas and highlight your own natural beauty.”

When I see skincare products that show results, use ingredients that I have researched, and also show concern for the environment I get really excited, possibly due to the fact that I write these articles regularly. I am also not 18 anymore, so I am genuinely concerned about skin damage and aging. In the past, I had low-quality anti-acne face wash, and that was really it in terms of skincare products for me.

However, over the past few years, I have implemented a simple skincare routine using a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen regularly, with a facemask here and there. I’ve recently been looking for a good, natural sunscreen and I might just purchase mine from Esmi with a few other things, here's my wishlist:

1. Skin Shield Natural Sunscreen SPF 30

This sunscreen protects against UVA and UVB rays. It does not leave a residue that can result in clogged pores and breakouts like traditional sunscreens. Sun damage is possibly the worst factor in skin aging so regularly using a great sunscreen could make all the difference. This sunscreen features some great natural ingredients that should both protect and hydrate your skin:

Carrot oil

First off carrot oil is different from carrot seed oil. Carrot oil is yellowish/orange in color because it is made by cold pressing part of the actual carrot. Carrot seed oil is made from steam distillation of the carrot seeds. Carrot oil, when used as a skin product, has some great benefits. It regulates skin sebum (makes it not too dry or oily), protects against the sun, and rejuvenates your skin. Carrot oil contains vitamins A, C, and E, and carotol which all help your skin to look its best. However, it does appear yellowish when applied but over a few minutes, this color fades as the nutrients are absorbed into the skin.

Green tea

The positive skin effects of green tea are numerous. One of them is a skin lightening agent meaning that it can help with dark spots and other hyperpigmentation giving you a more even skin tone. Green tea is also packed with antioxidants that keep your skin healthy. It also contains EGCG which is known to fight against UV damage.

Cucumber

Cucumbers contain both vitamin C and folic acid. These two components combined help your skin look younger and firmer. Vitamin C stimulates new cell growth while folic acid helps to fight off environmental toxins. In addition, cucumber has also been shown to reduce swelling and puffiness.

Rosehip extract

Another oil loaded with nourishing vitamins and essential fatty acids perfect for your skin. This oil also contains phenols that have been shown to have antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties.

Aloe vera

“Aloe Vera is a bit like the Windex of skincare”: it’s supposed to fix anything.” Seriously what can’t aloe vera do? It moisturizes, protects and so much more. I highly recommend checking out that Aloe vera link if you really want to learn all about this amazing ingredient.

Hyaluronic acid

I literally just bought this as a stand-alone ingredient.

2. The Uncomplicated Cleanser

This cleanser really lives up to its name. It has two active ingredients: aloe vera and green tea. Simple, fresh, balanced.

3. Hydrating and nourishing Acai Duo

Another product with two main active ingredients, this time, it's acai and vitamin E oil. Acai naturally contains tons of vitamin A, which for our skin promotes cell regeneration. Paired with vitamin E, this lightweight duo moisturizer should work wonders.

Final Thoughts

When I first viewed Esmi Skin Minerals I thought this brand is loveable, bright, and clean. They transparently share their concern for the environment and showcase their effort to produce products that cause it no harm. All of Esmi Skin Minerals products are cruelty-free and vegan, and they come packaged in recyclable materials. The company is also based in Australia, and well let's face it that automatically makes them just a little cool.

Their website is easy to navigate and aesthetically pleasing. When you're looking at the individual products, the information is easy to digest, though, and paired with great pictures. You’ll find quality, natural ingredients that we here at Mirra fully support. Their products range in price starting at $25 for their Refreshing and Hydrating Skin Snack Face Mist, and they even have a payment plan option available for all purchases so you can shop and not worry about the bill at the end.
