Rising to TikTok Fame

Like her social media audience, Mikayla is a longtime lover of all things beauty and has similarly loved sharing her love of beauty online for years. Since as early as 2013, Mikayla has been posting beauty and makeup content on Tumblr and YouTube.

As an alum of Bryant University, Mikayla did not focus much on social media content when she was a full-time student despite experiencing some success on her posts. It wasn’t until the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 during quarantine that Mikayla seriously started to post on TikTok.

At the time, the pandemic had just started and Mikayla was laid off from her job as a beauty advisor at Ulta (1). With the new changes in her life, and more time on her hands, she decided to pursue her love of makeup on social media.

Over time, Mikayla started to take part in TikTok trends - as pretty much all TikTok users do - and went viral for her take on the “Catfish Challenge”, where she showed off her makeup skills by showing a before and after photo of herself with and without makeup. The video quickly blew up and gained thousands of views within hours of its release.

Mikayla Jane Nogueira x Glamlite

In June 2021, Nogueira launched her first makeup collection: a partnership with Glamlite Cosmetics, which was the first brand to add her to a PR list at the beginning of her social media career (3). The full collection features a colorful and vibrant palette, a lip gloss set highlighter, and two 3D faux lashes.

For lovers of all of Mikayla’s content, the palette is a must-have with shades named after aspects of her life and phrases in her content, including “Paht Two” (based on her Boston accent), Gemini, her sun sign, and Masshole.

The partnership was a big deal for Mikayla and her audience since she is so candid and particular about her makeup recommendations. It was clear that Mikayla chose the partnership carefully and trusts the Glamlite brand and products wholeheartedly. “I knew that Glamlite has one of the best formulas in cosmetics; they truly care about their formulas. I knew that I was in good hands, and I knew they’d give me full creative freedom,” she told Boston.com (4).

Since the release of her first collection, Mikayla teamed up with Glamlite again to release the “Mikayla Paht Two” collection that launched in July 2022. The second collection is more extensive than the first collection and features more products, including:

  • Limited Edition PR Box with Luxury Velvet Makeup Bag
  • Glamlite 30 Color Palette
  • Duochrome Highlighter
  • Lucky Charms Lip Set
  • Brush Set
  • 10 Color Palette
  • Golden Dreams Lip Set
  • High Fashion Lashes
  • Day Dreamer Lashes

Like her first collection, some products are sold out on the Glamlite site and may need to be restocked, but you can still score some great items if you want to support and show your love for Mikayla and her content.
